While canned cranberry sauce will be served in many households this Thanksgiving, some people prefer homemade cranberry sauce.
- 24 oz. of cranberries
- 1/4 cup sugar to taste
Put 2 inches of water in a pot, bring to a boil and pour the cranberries in. Let them cook for about 10 minutes, stirring once or twice. It should take 10 to 15 minutes of cooking over medium-high heat.
Turn off the heat and add sugar to taste.
When determining how much turkey to serve, plan on buying approximately 1 1/2 lbs. of turkey per person. If you want to send your guests home with leftover turkey, consider buying a bit more.
